From January 1st, 2023, a change in sales tax according to UstG §12 Paragraph 3 came into force.

The new version of the UstG came into force on January 1st, 2023, which makes the purchase of solar systems and home storage systems cheaper. The law defines the specifications and requirements for saving VAT on all components of a photovoltaic system such as solar modules, inverters or battery storage.

In concrete terms, this means that you do not pay 19% VAT on your item if you meet the following requirements!
If you are ordering as a business owner, please indicate this when ordering! Accordingly, 19% VAT will then be shown on the invoices!

What requirements do you have to meet?

There are a number of legislative requirements in accordance with Section 12 Paragraph 3 of the UstG for the purchase of solar systems and associated components and battery storage with the guarantee of the reduced tax rate of 0%:

- Die Anlage muss wohnungsnah sein oder auf öffentlichen und anderen Gebäuden, die für dem Gemeinwohl dienende Tätigkeiten genutzt werden.
- The solar system must not exceed 30 KW (peak).
- You must be the operator of the solar system or battery storage system yourself and you may not purchase the system or components for third parties.
- Sie dürfen keinen gewerblichen Handel oder Weiterverkauf mit den erworbenen Komponenten betreiben.
- You must be resident in Germany and the German UstG must apply to you.

Which products are exempt from tax?

According to the new law in Section 12 Paragraph 3 No. 1 UStG (new), the delivery of solar modules is eligible regardless of whether the solar modules are part of a work delivery or are purchased individually. This also includes so-called balcony power plants, i.e. solar modules that are set up on the balcony and usually connected to a socket. Mobile solar modules (e.g. for camping purposes), however, are not covered.

By placing the order, we assume that these conditions are met. If you subsequently need the VAT shown, we can change this for you.
